PokiChloe Talks Pokemon and Horror Flicks with Mantel

In the collectibles world, Chloe Webb is a jack-of-all-trades. Between her venture with Collector’s Cardhouse, her top-tier Pokemon collection, and her love of horror movies, she made the perfect guest for this week’s Mantel Quality Stories with Buster Scher.

New Signed Jordan Rookie Cards Now in PSA Database

Back in April, Cllct first reported that Michael Jordan had signed 10 Fleer rookie cards — a rare occurrence given MJ’s deal with Upper Deck. Those autographed cards have now been entered into PSA’s population report, and six of them, all graded PSA 10, will be on display at The National later this month (where collectors can settle the ongoing debate if blue ink was the right choice for the signatures).

Napoleon’s Pistols Blow Past $1.3M Estimate

Napoleon Bonaparte’s flintlock Gossard pistols sold for $1.83M on Sunday via French auction house Osenat. Days before the auction, France declared the guns were “national treasures,” meaning the French government has 30 months to make a purchase offer to the new owner and the guns can only temporarily leave the country. Both guns are inlaid with silver and gold, featuring Napoleon’s engraved profile.

Thieves Nab $2M in Baseball Cards

As the Dallas Card Show closed last week, card dealer Ashish Jai noticed a case of his most valuable cards was missing. Jai claims three people distracted his team while a fourth individual swiped the case holding the cards from under the table. The stolen case reportedly included multiple graded 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle cards, as well as Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, and Willie Mays cards. According to Jai, the theft “was predetermined and targeted because they knew exactly what case to take." Police are investigating.
